LUXURY LODGE-HOPPING:
DELTA DELIGHTS
10 DAYS
Botswana
Botswana, and especially its northern region, could easily be considered Africa’s ultimate luxury safari destination. A visit to one of the country’s many authentic, and luxurious bush camps or lodges is an experience you will never forget. It’s not just the décor and the thread-count that make this experience special… this safari is the whole package. From the best game viewing in the country, to remote wildernesses with breath-taking scenery, and world-class hospitality – this is quite simply an unbeatable safari experience.
The Chitabe region of the Okavango Delta offers excellent game-viewing and authentic bush-camp-luxury. This “dry camp” is situated on the edge of a beautiful wooded island where leopards and lions are regular visitors!
“Paradise Island” is a fitting name for the location of your next stop. This “wet camp” is a water wonderland, deep in the heart of the Okavango Delta. Enjoy boat trips, abundant bird life, or a mekoro ride (traditional canoe) on crystal-clear waterways. Finally, take a short flight to the Linyanti area – magnificent scenery with excellent game-viewing and thrilling water and land-based activities. This is the epicenter of Botswana’s incredible elephant population, but wild dogs, lions and spectacular birdlife are also common residents.
From Big 5 game viewing, to pristine wilderness and peace and quiet, we’ve scouted out the most luxurious bush camps in Botswana’s best locations, in order to bring you the most unforgettable safari experience possible.
This is simply an example itinerary that can be tweaked and changed to suit your needs. This is also why we don’t put prices on our itineraries – we specialize in tailor-making our trips for each individual client. If you like the sound of this itinerary, then send us a direct email enquiry, or fill out the detailed enquiry form below.
TIP
This itinerary includes “Classic” camps – luxury bush camps with the 5-star treatment you’re accustomed to anywhere else in the world. You can, however, take the luxury up a notch and stay in “Premier” camps. Premier camps are the best of the best and offer a world-class experience in every way possible. For a 6-star safari experience that’s second to none, just tell us you’d rather lodge-hop through a mixture of Botswana’s Classic and Premier camps!
This is an excellent itinerary for any first-time visitors to Botswana, or for your honeymoon, family safari, or just an excuse to see the African bush at its most luxurious!

THE DETAILS
10 Days (including final travel day)
DAY 1-3: Chitabe Concession, Okavango Delta
Take your scenic light-aircraft flight from Maun or Kasane to the Chitabe Concession in the south-eastern Okavango Delta. This area is a hotspot for lions, leopards, antelope, wild dogs and more, and enjoy views of the camp’s waterhole as you watch the daily animal traffic pass by.
Beyond the camp, Okavango and Kalahari landscapes meet to form rich and diverse habitats. Of the five guest tents, two are specially designed for families. Each is decorated in a unique style, while mealtimes in the intimate dining area (with its views across the floodplains) is the perfect place to recount tales from your game drives and nature walks.
Enjoy evenings around the camp fire and drinks under bright starry skies. Scan the bushveld during your evening drive for unusual nocturnal mammals such as civet, genet, bush babies, owls and leopards!
DAY 4-6: Central Okavango Delta
After breakfast, or your early-morning game drive, you’ll depart the camp for your short flight into the heart of the Okavango. This water wonderland really is a wild African paradise. “Paradise Island” is a fitting name for this area of islands, channels and papyrus beds. Take a boat trip to shallow lagoons, sit of white sandy Okavango “beaches” and have a swim in the river’s crystal-clear waters!
Mekoro excursions are a specialty, as well as game drives on the productive Nxabega Island.
Nine luxury tents nestled between giant riverine trees are connected by an elevated walkway. A highlight is reading the ‘morning news’ – the tracks of nocturnal visitors left behind in a sandpit on the bridge.
This is the land of the elusive Sitatunga antelope and the rare Pel’s fishing-owl. Keep an eye out for these and other specialty sightings as you float along the serene channels of the Delta.
DAY 7-9: Linyanti
After breakfast, or your early-morning mekoro ride, you’ll get a boat ride back to the nearest airstrip for your flight to the Linyanti concession, north-east of the Okavango Delta. Your luxury camp’s location on the banks of Osprey Lagoon positions it squarely at the epicenter of Botswana’s numerous elephant herds that pepper the northern regions.
Linyanti is a hotspot for wildlife, exquisite scenery, water and land based activities, and abundant birdlife! Eight twin guest tents and two family tents enjoy views over the lagoon, and the floating sundowner deck reflects the light footprint of a camp run solely on solar power. Enjoy the secretive hides and platforms around the camp – ideal for bird watching and photographing wildlife.
DAY 10: Fly to Maun / Kasane Airport, Depart
Your morning game drive will end at the airstrip, where you’ll catch your flight to Maun or Kasane. Or extend your itinerary to include more of Botswana (Chobe, Kalahari Desert, Savuti), Zimbabwe, Zambia, or even South Africa or Mozambique!
