MANA POOLS N.P.
UNIQUE WILDERNESS
Mana Pools is a truly unique experience. The park lies on the mighty Zambezi River, over 310 miles east of Victoria Falls. It’s known for its towering forests and several “pools” and floodplains along the Zambezi riverfront.
Famous for walking safaris, visitors are able to walk through the park with a professional, highly experienced guide and there’s a high chance of seeing the Big-5 on foot. Because of the huge forests there is little grass in Mana Pools, and wild dogs, lions, elephants and leopards are common sightings while on foot, as well as an astounding array of birdlife! Seeing wildlife in this truly “organic” and natural way is the experience of a lifetime.
BEST KEPT SECRET
Mana is a remote destination well off the beaten track, but it’s Zimbabwe’s best kept secret. The park is seasonal and closes during the high rainfall months (December – March). Several luxury bush camps and mobile safaris offer walking and traditional safaris. If you want something a bit different, a bit more immersive and authentic, then definitely put Mana on your travel wish-list!
