“REAL” AFRICA

Hwange National Park is Zimbabwe’s largest National Park and is the country’s most popular and accessible safari destination, with year-round game viewing. During winter, the many waterholes attract huge herds of buffalo and elephants; and in the summer, the vast grassy plains are home to sable, roan, giraffe, wildebeest, impala, gemsbok, and incredible bird life. There is also a healthy lion and wild dog population in Hwange.

This is the “real” Africa! With little human interference, and vast tracts of unspoilt wilderness, the animals here live as they have for centuries. The mixture of teak woodland, open plains, muddy waterholes and mopane forests provide an array of habitats for the diverse wildlife. Visit in November for excellent birdwatching opportunities!

DIVERSE WILDLIFE

Many luxury, tented bush camps are located in the park, maintaining an authentic and truly “African” safari experience that Khaki Fever strives to support, and at most of these camps herds of thirsty elephants come to drink from the fresh-water swimming pools right in front of the lodge!
